The Stone
Presbyterian Church is a group of people seeking to be faithful to God. We do this through
worship, fellowship and nurture; striving to deepen our lives in the Christian faith.
As individuals, as a
congregation, and through our Presbyterian Church USA, we reach out to share the Good News
and to minister to the world. We work to tell people about our Lord, to help the hungry
and the hurting, and to witness to our society. Stone Presbyterian Church is a caring
church.
Our Congregation is guided by
two boards, comprised of both men and women: The Session/Trustees and the Deacons. Board
members are selected for three-year terms by the congregation. Our church offers
opportunities for people to use their talents.
You are invited to join with us
on our journey of faith. We know we will find our purpose here, and all that makes life
truly meaningful.
We live our life
in God's light. The Presbyterian Church, in our unity in Christ, is open to all.
The Reverend Bruce Smith was
installed as our pastor in February 1987. Previously, he served three Presbyterian
congregations in Pennsylvania, where he was also chairperson of the Elkland Municipal
Authority.
Rev. Smith grew up in
Hempstead, Long Island, and was graduated from Drew University, and from Princeton
Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children: Douglas, Ellen and
Benjamin.
