"Real Good! This is an authentic Greek Restaurant with all of the classic dishes with some extra twists on some classics. Food is great with a good selection of menu choices. Good portions, good prices, clean and comfortable setting, with good service. Wait staff very friendly. This is a gem and worth checking out. You will love it!!!"

"The best place in town! After coming home from our honeymoon in Greece we agreed this is the best Greek you can get outside of Greece. The food is absolutely delicious, made the traditional way, and the owners and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Pretty much everything on the menu is good, and you'll certainly find a favorite (cough cough, feta fries, cough). It's very easy to get to on the main Arsenal Street drag and is just off of I-81."

"A definite good surprise! We were not sure what to expect when we visited the restaurant but it was so great that I brought back my kids. They don't eat this type of food but they fell in love with it! The flaming feta cheese appetizer is our favorite and usually have to order 2 so my children are not fighting over it! Lol we love getting 2-3 different platter choices and just sharing among ourselves. I think that's one of the best things about this restaurant is the way we share the platters around the table. Just writing the review makes me want to hop in the car and head there now!"

"Stopped in for lunch with my son. He had friends that told him how good it was and went with them. He said they were right and took me. They were all right! My son had the traditional Gyro, and I had the Beef-Tip Gyro. Both were very generous sizes, and delicious. I got the onion rings for a side, which were fine (nothing special but nothing bad), and my son got the macaroni and cheese, which he said was very good. I got the Baklava for desert and my son got the Galatoboureko. We traded bites and both were DELICIOUS (although I liked my Baklava better). I'd go back!"

“Great food at a great price” Pasta night Tuesday - A Greek twist on ziti (me) and macaroni and cheese (daughter) - portions large - we enjoyed the leftovers on day 2. Excellent Greek side salad. Wish we were staying a few days - would go back. A hidden treasure - in mall behind Price Chopper. Could have walked from most of the Watertown Rt 81 exit motels

Everything here is excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant and laid back in this nice locally owned family restaurant. The service staff do an excellent job of taking care of you and are very pleasant. Food tends to come out fairly quickly and always tastes fresh and delicious. The owners are usually there taking care of things to keep the place pleasant and seeing that things move along nicely. There are so many signature dishes, appetizers, desserts, and accompaniments (tzatziki sauce, their Greek seasoning, etc.) that are unique and add that extra touch to make this place worth passing up the same-old-same-old.

“Good food.” We had good food and good service. We shared an appetizer of spinach pie which was good. My husband had chicken florentine which he said was very good. I had the chicken in phyllo dough and it was also very good. The portion was large enough that I couldn't finish it.

My family often eats and this resturant and gets their take out. I highly recommend their marveouls food and friendly knowledgable staff. We have always liked everything on thier menu! Don't miss the greek spagetti, baklava ice cream or dolmas!

I can't stress enough how wonderful this restaurant is. The food is fresh and delicious. The people are warm and friendly. The atmosphere is very inviting. My husband and I have been going to the Apollo since we was stationed here is 2011 and we continue to go to this very day. Thank you apollo five stars!! please stop in and check them out! I recommend the stuffed grape leaves or any of their gyros!

“Not bad at all it's Greek............” Stopped in for lunch with my daughter. Order the traditional Greek Gyro, very nice, Full of flavor done just right. We also had the feta nachos, which are homemade potato chips with feta cheese tomatoes black olives, outstanding what a difference. Service was good, prices reasonable. Working forward to another trip to try some more items on their menu.

“Fast and friendly” I came in at a slow time but was still greeted immediately and was told I could sit anywhere. Waited was energetic and friendly. My order was taken quickly and my food came out fresh and hot within a matter of minutes. They made a slight error on my order but nothing major. Food quality was fantastic as well.

“Yum” We have eaten here before, but this time was really great. The server was friendly. The food was served quickly. Of course, we stuck with our favorite....gyros... I had the original at $8.25 and my husband had the Lamb at $9.75. They were outstanding. Very flavorful. The pita bread was soft and airy. Not like some others which are hard and tough. We opted for a side greek salad at $2.50 each. The salad comes with the Greek dressing on the side. The salad included the rice stuffed grape leaves. Only regret, I wish they had anchovies for the salad.

We had been here once before and were not impressed at all - service and food both were terrible. For some reason, we were both craving a gyro and the only place in town was Apollo. So we decided to give it another try. It was great. Service was very good this time and the food was awesome. Neither could even remember what we had the last time by the time we left. They have also done some upgrading to the interior since last we were there. It will take a few more visits to earn that fifth star back but maybe that will come sooner than later, we just found out that they deliver on post now!

“Good selection, vegetarian friendly” Very quick and friendly service and several of the items on the menu were vegetarian. Food orders have a variety of side options from which to choose. I had a falafel gyro and I highly recomend it.

“Great Gyros”  Really the only Greek food you will find in the Watertown area. The staff are all really nice. The food is great. I have eaten there about 20-30 times over the 2 1/2 years I lived there. The food was always good.

“Nice People, Great Greek Food” At my sister and brother-in-law's recommendation, we stopped for lunch after visiting the downtown Farmers Market while vacationing in the area. I had the 1/2 Greek salad with chicken and not only was it very tasty, it was a very generous serving. My wife loved the spanakopita. The service was very friendly and professional. They were doing a brisk business with take-out so it appears that they're popular with locals. If you're looking for something different, skip the fast food joints and try Greek specialties.

“BEYOND DELICIOUS!!” Family and I moved south and I'm so saddened by the fact I will never eat there again (first world problems). Wish the area we live in now had even something remotely close to apollos. Best Greek food I have ever encountered.

“Hidden Gem” Recommended by a friend and Mapquest it otherwise I wouldn't have found it. Great outdoor sign for locals but not very large for new customers during the day. So glad we made the extra effort to find it. We went for lunch had Chicken Parm sandwich, Reuben sandwich, hamburger.  All 3 of us loved our meal and the great service. Prices were reasonable.Everything was freshly made and the burgers are home made .

Excellent Greek food. The traditional Gyros are fantastic, although they offer many variations for anybody's taste (e.g. Chicken Parmesan Gyro). Tasty burgers, salads, and desserts are also available. My favorite side are the sweet potato fries with feta.

“Consistently Excellent Food and Service”
Reviewed February 1, 2014 This Greek/American Restaurant is in the Price Chopper Strip Mall in Watertown NY. The restaurant is not huge but the menu is, as is the service. Always friendly and helpful waitresses without being in your face. The restaurant is very clean and the food is excellent. Our favorites are the gyros and lemon chicken soup, home made pitas, oh my I could go on and on ..Greek salads are wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. My report says that we visited in Dec.2013 but actually this restaurant is a regular stop for us.

I have never written a review in my life! BUT after eating here I just had to! We just moved to the area and were searching for a place for dinner, we pulled up and I almost didn't go in because it looked like a carry-out/fast food place. After going in I saw there were places to sit down and have a nice meal which was exactly what we wanted. My family eats Mediterranean/ Greek all the time and we often cook authentic meals, this place had the best falafel I have had in a long time! The dolmas were lemony and soft and amazing! The spanakopita was to die for! The chicken was so well marinated I didn't even need tzaki on it. The gyro meat was so flavorful and not dry like some places I have been to. I got the sampler platter (as you can tell I tried everything) and had plenty to take home for leftovers (only $11.95) and my husband had the chicken roll ups..they were huge! The chicken was rolled up and filled with feta and then rolled in phyllo dough..ah-maz-ing! The chicken was so juicy and all the flavors came together perfectly. We will be going back! Don't even get me started on desert! The gym is def calling my name tomorrow!

Eating real food at a restaurant is becoming a rare thing. Reheating and defrosting seems to be the norm, but Apollo seems to be still cooking honest, fresh, real food. We love the salads and freshness of their homemade chips. At lunch , my husband and I ordered the fish gyro and Greek nachos as our meal. It was amazing. The service was excellent and it was nice to see that the owners greet, clean tables, serve food and help out everywhere. The food is different from what we had in Europe, but it just right for the area and as I stated before FRESH. Love this place!

Apollo can run with some of the best Greek restaurants of NYC and Boston. I used to eat here regularly in 2002-2003 when I worked in the area. I stopped here again in recent months on a drive to Canada. I did not expect to find this restaurant almost 10 years later, considering all of the big box retail, hotel and chain restaurant development in this part of Watertown. The service, along with the gyro and fries platter was as great as ever. With few healthy options in Watertown, the food is made fresh. Great choice for the North Country.

“Feta Mecca” I stepped into The Apollo Restaurant expecting a counter gyro place, out of curiosity really and with no intent to stop and eat. One look at the menu turned that around. Greek sweet breads, spanakopita, falafel.. just the appetizers had me going. I ended up ordering the feta-stuffed falafel. What? Fantastic, creamy feta of a pleasantly different texture than I'm used to, wrapped in chickpea pastry that was still quite hot as it arrived. The pita was fluffy and fresh, and the tzatziki was most welcome. Next time I may try the Greek nachos (topped with melted feta) or Saganaki (flaming feta cheese dip). It's not hard to spot the theme. For my entree - being a first-timer - I tried the Three Meat Combo. The beef souvlaki was good, but the beef-lamb gyro and marinated chicken were true standouts. I'm looking forward to trying the 100% lamb gyro next time, if this was any indication. They have a little flip-book with pictures of the entrees. If the other entrees are as advertised, I have a great deal to look forward to. They brought me extra feta free of charge and with a smile. Apollo's was exactly what I was looking for - an unpretentious and friendly spot with great food and very reasonable prices. The owners, Michelle and Bill, were welcoming and generous, and clearly pleased that I was enjoying myself. That's always a good indicator in my book. Other notes - gluten free menu available. Enjoy!

When I lived back home, this was my favorite place for dinner! The Traditional Gyro was always fantastic! I have been to a couple greek resturants here in Denver, Colorado where I moved to, and nothing just dosnt compare to the Apollo. When I go home visit, I can not wait to visit here as well!!!! I recommend to everyone!

To my knowledge Apollo is the only Greek joint in town, but even if it wasn't it would hold it's own. Delicious menu items and compared to other Greek restaurants I've tried it's on par. I always get the traditional Gyro with no onions and then the Santorini for a app. It's hard to even explain the Santorini, it's like goat cheese in a baklava pastry with honey and poppy seeds drizzled on top. Try it, it's delicious.

Came here for Sunday lunch and had the lemon chicken soup and traditional gyro. The soup was a delicious thick soup with great lemon flavors. The gyro came with a bottle of their house tzatziki sauce and chips. The pita bread was soft and overall everything was delicious. The service was great. The server was friendly and timely. Will definitely come back!

I've been here twice and both times have been very impressed by the quality of the food. This is fast becoming one of my favorite places in Watertown. Tonight I tried the salmon, which was seasoned surprisingly well, and enjoyed the Santorini Chicken Pasta Platter on my previous visit as well. Appetizers were also well-done - we tried the spanakopita and the sampler platter. Keep doing what you do, Apollo. I'll be back.
