On June 26th,
the Jefferson
Community College (JCC) Emergency Medical Services Club donated $5000 to the JCC
Foundation for an endowed scholarship in memory of their fellow classmate, Mark B. Davis.
Davis, a first-year paramedic program student at Jefferson, was slain on January 31, 2009
while on a call as a volunteer emergency responder with the Cape Vincent Volunteer Fire
Department. When other campus clubs learned what the EMS club was doing, they joined
forces and together, Jefferson students have raised nearly $8,000 in just 4 months.
